『代理婚活』とは、ご子息に代わって親がお見合いやパーティなどに参加し、結婚のための活動をする、親同士のお見合いのことをいいます。

親同士のお見合いは、簡単に言うとお見合い対象の本人同士が出会う前に、結婚させたい息子・娘を持つ親同士がプロフィール交換をし合い、お見合いのお膳立てをしていく会です。

通常、結婚相談所でのお見合いの場合、本人同士のお見合いの後交際がスタートし、本格的に結婚が見えて来た段階で、最後の壁として初めて親の出番がくるのですが、この場合は完璧に逆です。

どんな親御さんが参加されるかというと、現代のアラサー・アラフォー世代（30歳代～40歳代）の子を持つ親御さん、子離れ親離れ出来ないと自覚している親御さん、ご自分の結婚生活の失敗を我が子には絶対にさせたくないと強く願う親御さんなどです。

少ないメリットとしてあげるとすれば、本来結婚の最後の壁となる両親の承諾を最初にクリアしているのですから、本人同士が良ければ結婚への道のりは短期間ですむということでしょうか。
